The photo work I’ve done so far for my convergence class has brought me to see the world in a more creative and detailed way. When I walk around with the camera I really think about how to capture my surroundings in a way that hasn’t been done before. I do this by getting various angles and my favorite technique is taking close up shots of little details in the scene I’m capturing. So, rather than getting a lot of wide shots of the farm that I’m doing my story on, I instead gather various tight shots of the produce or get a picture of the farmers picking the vegetables from an unusual angle. Since learning these photography skills I find myself taking in everday situations in a different way even when I’m without the camera. I’ve begun to look past the wide view of daily life and am now seeing the unique details and moments that make a good photograph.
